பௌத்தமும் வைணவமும் இருவேறு விசயங்கள் அல்ல. பௌத்தத்தின் வீழ்ச்சிக் காலத்தில் இந்து மதம் பௌத்தத்தில் இருந்து நடத்தை உள்ளிட்ட அடிப்படையான கொள்கைகளை வரித்துக் கொண்டு தனதாக்கிக் கொண்டது. இவை தற்போது வைணவமாகி உள்ளது.

occupied the Buddhist monasteries also. The many monasteries that you now see in India occupied
by monks were once in the possession of Buddhism. The Hindus have only made them their own now
by modifying them in their own fashion. “
