மொழி சங்கேத சொற்களால் ஆனது. இச்சொற்கள் ஒன்றை ஒன்று பிரதிபலிக்கின்றன என்று நமக்கு தெரியும். இந்த சங்கேதக் குறிகளை இணைய வைத்து, மோதவிட்டு கவிதையின் சில சாத்தியங்களை படைப்பாளியால் அடைய முடியும். இத்தகைய செயல்முறைகளில் ஒன்றை தேடிக் கண்டுபிடிப்பது தான் இக்கட்டுரையின் நோக்கம். பள்ளிக் காலத்தில் ஜாலவித்தைக்காரர்கள் வந்து போன பின் அவர்களின் சூட்சுமத்தை கண்டுபிடித்து விட்டதாய் அந்தரங்கமாய் மட்டும் குசுகுசுத்துக் கொள்வோம். அடுத்த முறை வரும் போது மர்மம் விலகாமல் அதிக ஆர்வமுடன் அவரை சூழ்ந்து கொள்வோம். அறிதல் மர்மத்தை அதிகமாக்கும். கொல்லாது.
ஒரு கனவை மீட்டெடுப்பதன் நோக்கம் என்னவாக இருக்கும்? கவிதையின் அரூப இயக்கத்தை பொதுவயமாக வடிக்க முயல்வதும் அதற்கே. கோயில் கருவறையின் மென்வெளிச்சத்தில் நுண்பேசியின் படக்கருவியை இயக்கி சாத்தி வைத்து விட்டு இயக்கத்தை அறிவோம். அறிதல் அபச்சாரமில்லை.
பயணப் படிமம் என்பது காக்னிடிவ் பொயடிக்ஸ் எனும் சமகால விமர்சனத்தின் ஒரு முக்கிய கருவி. இக்கருவியை மனுஷ்யபுத்திரனின் “காலை வணக்கங்கள்” எனும் ஒரு கவிதையில் சொருகப் போகிறோம். முதலில் கருவியை பழகுவோம்.
அன்றாட மொழியில் ஒன்று மற்றொன்றாகும் ஜாலம் பிரயத்தனமின்றி நிகழ்கிறது. உதாரணமாக, “அந்த பொண் ஓடிப் போயிட்டா”. இங்கு ஒரு பயணம் உள்ளதை அது வேறு பொருள் கொள்வதை கவனியுங்கள். இது போன்ற எண்ணற்ற பயண பிரயோகங்கள் நம் மொழியில் உள்ளன. இவற்றை செய்ய தேவையான பொருட்கள்? பொதுவாக, வினைச்சொற்தொடர், முன்னிடைச் சொற்தொடர், வினையடைகள் ஆகியன. இங்கு நாம் வினைத்தொடரை பிரத்யேகமாய் கவனிக்க போகிறோம். வினைத்தொடருக்கு வினைச்சொல் தான் அஸ்திவாரம். இதை முழுமை அடையாத ஒரு சொற்றொடர் எனலாம். முழுமையான ஒரு சொற்றொடரில் ஒட்டிக் கொண்டு வினையை சித்திரப்படுத்த பயன்படும் துண்டுதுக்கடா. துப்பட்டா போல் ஒரு வாக்கியத்தின் தலை, கழுத்து, தோள், இடுப்பு என பல இடங்களில் இது அலங்கரிக்கும். உதாரணமாக, “வாரி சுருட்டிக் கொண்டு வீரப்பன் ஓடினான்” என்பதில் முக்காடாக வருகிறது.
படைப்பு மொழியில் இந்த பிரயோகங்கள் பரிச்சயமறச் செய்யப்பட்டு (defamiliarise) பொருளாழம் பெறுகின்றன. இதனால் நேரடி மொழியில் போலன்றி ஒரு காட்சிபூர்வ தன்மையை இவை அடைகின்றன. படிமம் ஆகின்றன். இத்தகைய படிமத்தை பயணப் படிமம் என்கிறோம்.
ஒரு பிரபலமான, சற்று பழைய, திரைப்பட பாடல் வரியில் இருந்து நாம் இந்த பயணப் படிமத்தை நன்கு புரிந்து கொள்ளலாம். ”நண்டு” படத்தில் இருந்து “அள்ளித் தந்த வானம் அன்னை அல்லவா ...”
“தாயன்பைப் போல் தாராளமாய் மழை பொழியும் வானம்” என்பதற்கும் “அள்ளித் தந்த ... “ வினைத்தொடருக்குமான வித்தியாசம் என்ன? முதல் சொற்றொடரில் ஒரு மனச்சித்திரம் இல்லை. தட்டையாக ஒற்றைப் பொருளுடன் முடிகிறது: வான் கொடை. ஆனால் இரண்டாவது தொடர் வானம் தன் கைகளால் பூமிக்கு அள்ளித் தரும் அருமையான சித்திரத்தை அளிக்கிறது. இதிலுள்ள ஒப்பீட்டை களைந்து ஒரு தனித்த படிமமாக நாம் விரித்தெடுக்க முடியும். ஒரு அலாதியான அனுபவமாக இது அமைகிறது. சரி இங்குள்ள பயணம் என்ன? மழை வானிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டு பூமிக்கு வருவது. வருகை எனும் அருவ செயலை உருவப் படுத்துவது மழை. வினையின் உருவமாக அமைவதால் இதனை வினைகடத்தி (trajector) எனலாம். இயற்கை எய்யும் ஒரு அம்பாக மழையை (வினைகடத்தி) கற்பியுங்கள். இலக்கு பூமி. இந்த இலக்கை நிலக்குறி எனலாம் (land mark). இந்த மொழியியல் சமாச்சாரத்தை தெளிவாக விளக்க இந்த பதங்கள் அவசியம். மற்றொரு நடைமுறை உதாரணம்.

”செத்துட்டாரு” என்பதை விட ”பூட்டாரு” என்பதே அதிக வழக்கில் உள்ளது. இதற்கு காரணம் அந்த பயன்பாட்டில் உள்ள கவித்துவம் மற்றும் ஆன்மீக, புராணிக பொருளடுக்குகள். ஒவ்வொரு முறை பூட்டாரு எனும் போதும் நம்மை அறியாமல் ஆழ்மனதில் ஒரு மனிதன் பிரபஞ்ச சுழற்சியில் ஓரு சுற்று போய் கலந்து விடுவதை நினைத்துக் கொள்கிறோம். நீர்க்குமிழியில் வானவில் போல் மிகச்சுருக்கமாய் மற்றும் காட்சிபூர்வமாய் ஆழமான பொருள் தளங்களுக்குள் போக முடிவதாலே நாம் இத்தகைய பயணப் படிமங்களை விருப்பத்துடன் பயன்படுத்துகிறோம். காக்னிடிவ் பொயடிக்ஸில் இதனை இமேஞ் ஸ்கீமா (image schema) என்கிறார்கள்.
உலகுடனான நமது உடல்சார் உறவாடலை பிரதிநுத்துவப்படுத்தும் ஒரு மனச்சித்திரம் என பயணப் படிமத்தை அழைக்கலாம். இந்த சித்திரங்கள் சார்ந்து நம் சமூக கூட்டு மனத்தில் ஒரு ஒருங்கிணைவு உள்ளதாலே இவற்றை பயன்படுத்தி தொடர்புபடுத்த முடிகிறது. நாம் அனைவருக்குமான மனவார்ப்புகள் இவை. பிரயாணம், உள்ளே-வெளியே, மேலே-கீழே, கொள்கலன் என நம் நரம்பணுக்குள் எத்தனையோ வார்ப்புகள். இந்த அச்சுகளில் பிறந்த பல இலக்கிய தலைப்புகள் வசீகரமானவை.
“யாரும் கர்னலுக்கு கடிதம் எழுதுவதில்லை” (கார்சியா மார்க்வெஸ்) என்ற நாவல் தலைப்பில் (நிலக்குறியை) சென்று சேராத கடிதங்களின் பயணம் உள்ளது. “என் படுக்கையறையில் யாரோ ஒளிந்திருக்கிறார்கள்” என்ற ம.புவின் தொகுப்பின் தலைப்பில் “கொள்கலன்” படிமம் உள்ளது. கென் கெஸ்ஸே என்பவரின் பிரபல நாவல் One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest (குயிலின் கூட்டுக்கு மீதாக ஒன்று பறந்து சென்றது) என்ற காட்சிபூர்வ தலைப்பில் பறவை ஓரிடத்தில் இருந்து கிளம்பி, கூட்டுக்கு மீதாக பறந்து, மற்றோர் இடத்தை அடையும் காட்சி கிடைக்கிறது. இவ்விசயத்தை மேலும் நுட்பமாக அலச ”காலை வணக்கங்கள்” கவிதைக்கு வருவோம்.

முதல் வரி முக்கியமானது. இங்கு ”விழிப்பு” பிரக்ஞைபூர்வ அரசியல் விழிப்பு அல்ல. முன்பிரக்ஞை விழிப்பு. வெளிச்சத்துக்கு முந்தைய விடியல். நிரந்தரமின்மையின் பயங்கள் கலைந்து போகும் கவிதாபூர்வ, “சன்னமான” ஒளி கொண்ட மனநிலை. ஒரு திசைகாட்டியுடன் மேலும் நகர்வோம்: காலத்தின் வெளியில் மனம் கொள்ளும் பயணம் குறித்தான பயங்கள் கொண்டது இக்கவிதை.
இந்த கவிதை பேசும் நிகழ்வை மூன்று நிலைகளாக பிரிக்கலாம். அதாவது மூன்று பயணங்களாக.
1. முந்தைய கனத்த பகலில் இருந்து இன்றைய முன்காலை வரையிலான பயணம். எல்லையற்ற அன்பின், உஷாரற்ற பிரியத்தின் மனவாசலில் வந்து முடியும் விழிப்பு யாத்திரை. (இந்த யாத்திரை ஒரு சுழல் என்பதை கடைசி பயணப்படிமம் சொல்லும்.) வினைகடத்தி – விழிப்பு மனநிலை. இலக்கு – முன்காலை. “பறவைகளுக்கு முன்னதாக” என்பதில் பறவைகளின், அதாவது பிரக்ஞையின், முடிவுறாத பயணம் உள்ளது. நெகிழ்ந்து கிடக்கும் உலோகங்கள் மற்றும் கசிவுறும் கட்டுமானங்கள் இப்பயணத்தை மேலும் பேசும் உருவகங்கள். முதல் உருவகமே ஒரு வினைகடத்தி. இது திடநிலையில் இருந்து பயணித்து நெகிழ்ச்சி எனும் நிலக்குறியை அடைகிறது. இறுக்கத்தில் இருந்து கட்டுமானங்கள் விரிசலுற்று பிரியத்தின் “நீர்மையை” அடைகின்றன.

முதல் வரி முக்கியமானது. இங்கு ”விழிப்பு” பிரக்ஞைபூர்வ அரசியல் விழிப்பு அல்ல. முன்பிரக்ஞை விழிப்பு. வெளிச்சத்துக்கு முந்தைய விடியல். நிரந்தரமின்மையின் பயங்கள் கலைந்து போகும் கவிதாபூர்வ, “சன்னமான” ஒளி கொண்ட மனநிலை. ஒரு திசைகாட்டியுடன் மேலும் நகர்வோம்: காலத்தின் வெளியில் மனம் கொள்ளும் பயணம் குறித்தான பயங்கள் கொண்டது இக்கவிதை.
இந்த கவிதை பேசும் நிகழ்வை மூன்று நிலைகளாக பிரிக்கலாம். அதாவது மூன்று பயணங்களாக.
1. முந்தைய கனத்த பகலில் இருந்து இன்றைய முன்காலை வரையிலான பயணம். எல்லையற்ற அன்பின், உஷாரற்ற பிரியத்தின் மனவாசலில் வந்து முடியும் விழிப்பு யாத்திரை. (இந்த யாத்திரை ஒரு சுழல் என்பதை கடைசி பயணப்படிமம் சொல்லும்.) வினைகடத்தி – விழிப்பு மனநிலை. இலக்கு – முன்காலை. “பறவைகளுக்கு முன்னதாக” என்பதில் பறவைகளின், அதாவது பிரக்ஞையின், முடிவுறாத பயணம் உள்ளது. நெகிழ்ந்து கிடக்கும் உலோகங்கள் மற்றும் கசிவுறும் கட்டுமானங்கள் இப்பயணத்தை மேலும் பேசும் உருவகங்கள். முதல் உருவகமே ஒரு வினைகடத்தி. இது திடநிலையில் இருந்து பயணித்து நெகிழ்ச்சி எனும் நிலக்குறியை அடைகிறது. இறுக்கத்தில் இருந்து கட்டுமானங்கள் விரிசலுற்று பிரியத்தின் “நீர்மையை” அடைகின்றன.
2. அடுத்தது ஒரு அ-பயணம். இது இம்மனநிலையில் உறைவதில் நிகழ்கிறது. ஒருவித mindfulness. கவிதையில் இது “ நினைத்தலாக” குறிக்கப்படுகிறது. இதனை மேலும் புரிய பஞ்சு என்கிற இறுதி உவமையுடன் தொடர்புறுத்த வேண்டும். அதாவது, ஈரம் உலர்ந்த பஞ்சின் இலக்கு பற்றின பதற்றமற்ற பறந்து திரிதலாக நாம் இந்த அ-பயணத்தை கற்பனை செய்யலாம். சுருக்கமாக, சாஸ்வதம்.
3. மூன்றாவது “இவ்வளவு லேசான காலையிலிருந்து” ”நினைத்தலில்” இருந்து “எழுதல்”. பிரக்ஞையால் தட்டி எழுப்பப்பட காலம் (லேசான காலை) ”கனத்த ... பொழுதாகிறது”. முதல் பயணப் படிமம் திட நிலையில் இருந்து லகுவாவது எனில் இது நேர்மாறானது. விட்டு விடுதலை நிலையில் இருந்து இறுக்கத்துக்கு திரும்புகிறது. வினைகடத்தி – முன்பிரக்ஞை. நிலக்குறி – பிரக்ஞை. இதற்கு ஆழம் சேர்க்க மற்றொரு உவமை தொடர்கிறது: நனைந்து கனத்த பஞ்சு. இங்கு இரண்டு விசயங்கள் கவனிக்க வேண்டும். கனம் பஞ்சின் இயல்பான நிலை அல்ல. உலர்ந்ததும் அது கட்டறுந்து காலத்தில் மிதந்து தங்கும் ஒரு பயணத்தை தொடரப் போகிறது. மிக சமர்த்தான ஒரு உவமை பயன்பாடு இது. ஏனெனில் கவிதை இங்கிருந்து மீண்டும் விட்ட இடத்தில் தொடர்கிறது. அடுத்து நீர் எனும் சொல்லின் இருவிதமான பயன்பாடு. “நெகிழ்ச்சி” “கனம்” ஆகிய இரு முரண் நிலைகளுக்கு நீர்மை பயன்படுத்தப்படுகிறது. இந்த முரணை முன்கொண்டு உங்கள் கற்பனை அலாதியாக விரிந்து செல்லலாம்.
இக்கவிதையில் பயண மற்றும் அ-பயண படிமங்களின் சந்திப்பு தான் மிகப்பெரும் திறப்பை ஏற்படுத்துகிறது. காக்னிடிவ் பொயடிக்ஸ் கவிதையில் இத்தகையை நுண்-முரண் அமைப்புகளை கவனிக்க சொல்கிறது. குறிப்புணர்த்தப்படும், காலச்சுழலில் நனைந்த பஞ்சின் பயண மீட்சி மனிதனின் மீட்சி என்ற பார்வையில் இருந்து மறுவாசிப்பையும் நிகழ்த்தலாம்.
